Through my work in the emergency department and trauma center, I have had to develop the skills to help families and patients navigate through some of the worst experiences of their lives. I have learned along the way that what is often needed most is a clinician who can meet you on common ground, synthesize complex data, and communicate the important points in a realistic and simple manner. I have revealed devastating diagnoses, celebrated improving conditions, broken difficult news to families, and facilitated end of life comfort care. These bedside interactions have always been the most meaningful aspect of medicine for me, and it is the reason why I am pursuing this initiative. I want to be the one to help families and patients navigate rough waters and determine a pragmatic path forwards, taking into account the available medical data and, most importantly, the wishes and goals of the patient in front of me.

Qualifications:

• Board certified in emergency medicine since 2015

• Actively completing Masters in Palliative Care from University of Colorado (completion May 2026)

• Nationally-recognized medical educator

• Active FL and NC medical licenses
